Chiang Tung

Chiang Tung เชียงตุง (also spelled Keng Tung, Kyaingtong), in the Eastern Shan State of Myanmar, is the historic borderland between the powerful cultures of the Burmese, Chinese, and Siam/Thai/Lao.

Chiang Tung was established during late 13th century when the Tai people under the leadership of King Mangrai of Chiang Rai/Chiang Mai conquered the region from the Lua people, a Mon-Khmer speaking people.
